ABOUT LOU
As a review critic wrote, "What a talented showman extraordinaire.” With a powerful voice and magnetic stage presence, Lou Villano has received praise from the great songstress Julie Budd as saying, “You are a fabulous singer – a major talent.” The release of his CD “Dreams Come True” is Lou's first CD after many years in entertainment which is why it is titled "Dreams Do Come True". “You need to push yourself to achieve your goals and dreams, so now it was the right time to make this dream come true.” Taking fan favorites and some of his own, he put this CD together as many of his audiences were asking him if he had any CD's so they could listen to him. He generates his own style and approach to his arrangements. Singing many tunes from various artists he applies his own style, class and sophistication to each song. His rendition of Dream Lover is fresh and different along with an original tune Still in Love. "I think you will thoroughly enjoy the song selections and arrangements" - Lou says. Featuring spirited takes on jazz standards, the record is almost like a preview of Villano's live act - brimming with youthful exuberance, stellar professionalism, and enviable charm.
In 2010, Lou performed with the Sugar Pops & Hallandale Pops Symphony Orchestras. 2011 was just as big as he completed major performances at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City on June 8th and at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Theater on August 6th doing Catskills at Dix Hills. Nov. 5th, 2011 Lou performed at the Feast of Little Italy in Jupiter with singer Lou Christie and ends the year of 2011 with the release of his debut CD “Dreams Do Come True.” For 2012 Lou starts the year at the 5th Annual Little Italy Festival at Traditions in Port St. Lucie along with comedian Sal Richards, then back performing with the Hallandale Pops Symphony Orchestra at the Gulf Stream Race Track on March 11th, August 1st at the North Shore Towers Country Club, August 4th at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Theater and August 8th at the Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City. He has been performing to rave reviews in any setting that you see him in. Lou’s extensive background as a performer covers over 40 years in entertainment and the performing arts. He has performed with comedians Sal Richards, Maureen Langan, Tom Cotter, Steve Solomon, Bobby Kelton, Peter Fogel, Brad Zimmerman, Lee Stanley, Ben Kurland, Barry St. Ives, Alan Prophet, Carl Guerra, Rocky LaPorte and the great comedienne Wendy Liebman. Wendy had this to say: "It was great to work with you Lou. Your show was fabulous and you're such a great performer.” Lou’s shows are entertaining and full of excitement. His “Luck, Love & Romance” themed show, along with his tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr., has become one of his signature performances. For 2011 he has added his new show “Legends of the 50’s/60’s with a touch of Broadway”. This show features hits from Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, Paul Anka, Bobby Darin and show tunes from The Jersey Boys, Man of La Mancha and West Side Story.
Every time you see Lou perform you can expect to hear & see a special type of a show, whether it be his tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr., Tom Jones, a musical suite of Michel Legrand hits, or featured selections by Sinatra, Michael Buble, Matt Monro, Engelbert Humperdinck and many more great singers. Lou is an exciting entertainer with a fresh and upbeat style, generating an electric charge into the audience and leaving you with a lasting impression. Formerly a well-known band leader in New York / Long Island under the name of Mark Stuart, Lou charms his way into his audience’s hearts by creating a night club atmosphere with his personality, hot arrangements and themed shows. Since he started his shows in Oct. of 2006 Lou has established himself as one of the major entertainers in Florida.
He began his career as a night club performer working in the Catskill Mountains, Dangerfield’s, The Rainbow Room in New York City, San Souci on Long Island, The 802 Club in Brooklyn, and The Moulin Rouge on Staten Island. He still goes back to his roots in New York every year performing around the tri-state area including the Catskill Mountains. During his career, he has also enjoyed playing small extra parts in television’s “Law and Order,” “Third Watch,” “Deadline,” “The Sopranos” and the new USA Network series “Burn Notice.”
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Lou relocated to Florida from Long Island in 2005. Whatever the arena Lou performs in, he is dynamic, has great style, and is the ultimate entertainer. His show is “A MUST SEE”.
